Supervisor Menu

Supervisor Menu page is utility page for supervisor-level users. Access to this page will require authetication, based on HTTP Authentication. Enter user name and password of accounts that have access to the zCI's supervisor subdirectory. Authentication token will be deactivated only if all browser windows are closed.

First page in this menu is SQL Query (screenshot). It only accepts SELECT database statements. We can use this facility to create custom report. Please read Data Structure to learn zCI database schema.

Second page is Add Reserved Devices (screenshot). The function of this page is to add reserved monitors and peripherals. The page allow up to 20 entries at once. User must enter the serial number of the added devices. The server side program will check for current data and will prevent data duplication if users enter serial number of regitered devices. For peripheral, user can write new model name. Serial numbers will be automatically converted to upper cases.

Administrations Menu

Administrator Menu page is utility page for administrator-level users. Access to this page will require authetication, based on HTTP Authentication. Enter user name and password of accounts that have access to the zCI's admin subdirectory. Authentication token will be deactivated only if all browser windows are closed.

Some facilities that involve device model name editing will be available only for peripherals, not monitors. The reason of this is because monitors information, including their model names, are retrieved by zCI client software and they are based on the monitor drivers that currently being used. By default, operating systems will assign generic names like "Default Monitor" or "Plug and Play Monitor". To fix this, please install correct monitor drivers on the client computers then re-executed zCI client program on particular machines.

First page in this menu is SQL Query (screenshot). It only accepts SELECT database statements. We can use this facility to create custom report. Please read Data Structure to learn zCI database schema.

Second page is Change Computer Status (screenshot). Users can use this page to masively change ownership and reservation status of computers. The first step is to do search for computers by their hostnames, usernames, and/or network domain names. A selection menu will be available in left side for each listed computer. The choices depend on current status of the computer, for example if it is an owned computer, the selection will be leased, end of ownership or reserved.

Third page is Change Device Status (screenshot). This page is used to manage peripherals and monitors. It has similar functionality to "Change Computer Status" page. Search can be done based on device model name and/or serial number.

Fourth page is Change Peripheral Model Name (screenshot). This page is used to change the model of peripherals. First, users must search for peripherals based on device model name and/or serial number. The selections for each peripheral are all registered model names, except the curently used one. The change will be canceled if in the new-selected-model list, a device with similar serial number is currently registered.

Fifth page is Rename Peripheral Model (screenshot). The function of this page is to massively change peripheral model names. Users can search for specific model names. This page is put on administrator page because it will also change affected peripheral registrations and may delete original model name from peripheral model category. Model name change will also change model ID registration of peripherals and cannot be rolled back, except by manual editing at database level. The original model will not be deleted if there are serial number conflicts between devices in original model and new model.
